- Two halves fit together by twisting/screwing.
- The coil parts (5 total) can be completely disassembled by hand (by unscrewing) so disassembly is easy, and each component can be cleaned separately.
- The coil vaporizer is thermally insulated, (due to an air gap between the inner and outer coils), therefore the outer surface does not become hot.
- Uses flame heat very efficiently, because it is so well insulated. This makes it good to use in cold weather.
The coil vaporizer tends to run hotter than our other vaporizers, since little heat is lost to the outer surfaces. The coil vaporizer has some limitations that buyers should be aware of:
- The flame intake hole is on the end-face, not the side like in the aluminum bat. This makes it a little harder to locate the flame properly. We don't think this is a big issue, however, since the shape of the coil vaporizer provides some visibility.
- The coil vaporizer is flexible. Stepping on the vaporizer can damage the ceramic filter.

If I had 3 wishes, my first wish would be that I discovered vapor genie 15 years ago. Now I have a bunch of dynavap stuff I’ll never use again. I love this piece too, I also have the hand carved and glass Sherlock. From my experience, it works best as a bong insert using a soft flame. There’s a slight learning curve due to this piece being metal but it’s really easy to develop a technique to avoid combustion.
Being one of the early adopters of the VG SS Coil, it is still one of my favorite vapes today. Super simple design, modular, and easy to clean. It's lasted me close to 20 years (if my math is right) and I foresee it even outlasting me. And it still works just as great as when I first learned it.

This little stainless steel device is amazing. I bought one years ago and it help up until about a few months ago when the ceramic piece started moving inside and would sometimes go sideways allowing the flame closer in. I believed that happened only because I had dropped it a lot. Its also very easy to clean since its stainless steel. 5/5
I've had the stainless vaporizer for a few weeks and I'm very pleased. For single person use---and for the price---this is a great buy.With proper care ;this is a life-time purchase.
