Back in the early 2000s, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern Virginia, in the small college town of Blacksburg, scientist, inventor, and patent lawyer Dan Steinberg noticed a fairly large flaw within the rapidly growing world of vaporization. This new way of capturing the beneficial properties of certain botanicals was gentler on the lungs and provided a unique, mellower experience with exceptional flavor—The issue was that the only available devices were so large and expensive that to casual enjoyers owning one just didn't make a whole lot of sense.

Dan knew there must be a solution, and he was determined to discover what is was. By 2002, with a little bit of luck and no shortage of trial and error, the Vapor Genie was born—one of the world’s first flame-powered portable vaporizers. At the heart of the design is a patented ceramic filter that blends flame and air to reach consistent vaporization temperatures. The result was a device that was simple, low-profile, affordable, and far ahead of its time.

As interest grew, so did the team’s creativity. The lineup expanded to offer something for everyone and a clear solution for vaporizing whenever, wherever, and with whomever. A major evolution came through a collaboration with Hi-Guy Glass, a respected artisan glassblower known for bold colors and quality craftsmanship. Together, they introduced handblown glass Vapor Genies that combine artistry and functionality—beautiful, durable pieces that feel almost otherworldly in the hand.
